Welcome to the Salient Racing Team page!
We are an amateur racing team based in Vancouver, Canada. The story began over 10 years ago aboard Turicum with a group of enthusiastic sailors led by Warren Hale. Many of the original team joined John Mortimer on String Theory after Turicum retired from racing. Today, almost half of our team aboard Salient started their offshore journey on Turicum. We are proud to carry the torch and share our story while preparing for the Vic-Maui 2018 Race. Join us on this adventure! |

Boat
Salient is a Beneteau First 40.7, professionally put together by First Yacht Services who campaigned Salient during the 2016 Vic-Maui Race. The First 40.7 is one of the most popular race boats around. |
Team
We are eight sailors, mostly experienced offshore sailors from British Columbia. Many of our crew have successfully competed in previous Vic Maui events and are excited to sail across the Pacific again. |
